systems are developed in WA and they're developing new mining methods
every day. These include mine planning, structural interpretation, 3D
visualisation, spatial inventories and production scheduling, just to
name a few.
Mining partnerships often take ICT firms off-shore, so workers get
great opportunities and global credentials. Demand for clean fuels is
driving the LNG market and explorers are looking for innovative,
cheaper ways to locate resources, using ICT through seismic mapping and
reserve modelling with 2-D, 3-D and 4-D technologies.
Independent systems like robots and self-repairing materials that
gather information, communicate and work together are being developed
and applied to this industry. The challenges and innovation
opportunities with ICT in the resources industry are huge.
